From 17 Years of Pain… to Helping Others Feel at Home in Their Bodies Again

In November 1994, my life changed in an instant.


A serious motor vehicle accident left me living with persistent neck and back pain for the next 17 years. I tried many different therapies over that time, searching for something that would truly resolve the discomfort rather than simply manage it.


Like many of my clients today, I learned how to “live with it.”


Until I discovered Body Stress Release.


What struck me first was how gentle it was. There was no force, no twisting, no cracking, and yet my body began responding in a way it never had before. The tension I had been carrying for years slowly started to shift.


For the first time in a long time, I felt change.


That experience didn’t just improve my health.


It changed the direction of my life.

  • Why I Became a Body Stress Release Practitioner

    If something so gentle could make such a difference to me after 17 years of pain, I knew I had to understand it fully.


    In 2012, I trained at the Body Stress Release Academy in South Africa. After qualifying, I built a successful practice in Johannesburg, helping people with ongoing aches, tension and physical stress patterns that hadn’t responded elsewhere.


    In 2016, my son and I moved to the UK, settling in Sandbach in 2017. Starting again in a new country was a leap of faith, but I felt strongly that this work needed to continue here.


    And it has been a privilege to bring it to Cheshire.

  • Who I Work With

    Many people come to see me when they are:


    • Tired of recurring back or neck pain
    • Tired of sciatica or restless legs
    • Living with ongoing headaches or tension
    • Struggling with digestive discomfort
    • Feeling fatigued or not sleeping well
    • Managing long-term stress or burnout
    • Told “nothing more can be done”

    Often, they’ve already tried physiotherapy, chiropractic, osteopathy or massage. Sometimes these helped temporarily, but the issue returned.


    They’re not dramatic.

    They’re simply worn down.


    I understand that feeling deeply, because I lived it.

  • What Makes Body Stress Release Different

    Body Stress Release (BSR) is a gentle, hands-on technique designed to help the body release stored tension patterns.


    You remain fully clothed and lie comfortably on a specially designed couch. The adjustments are subtle, precise and calm.


    There is no force.


    Yet the body’s response can be surprisingly powerful.


    I don’t “fix” people.

    I work with the body’s natural ability to rebalance itself.


    The process is very much a partnership. I encourage your muscles to let go of held tension, and I offer simple, practical suggestions you can use daily to reduce the stress your body carries.


    Over time, something shifts.


    Clients often move from seeing themselves as someone with “a bad back” or “chronic tension”… to someone who feels more confident and in control of their body again.


    That transformation is what I care about most.

  • Why This Work Still Inspires Me

    Had it not been for that accident all those years ago, I may never have found this path.


    Body Stress Release changed my health.

    It changed my career.

    And it changed my outlook on life.


    It doesn’t feel like work to me. It feels purposeful.


    There is something incredibly rewarding about seeing someone walk in feeling unsure… and leave standing a little taller, breathing a little easier, and feeling hopeful again.
