Your body is communicating. And there's more that can be done than you might think.

Women's Health
So much happens in a woman's body that never quite makes it into the conversation.
The pelvis, the lower back, and the structures around them carry an enormous amount — physically, hormonally, and emotionally — over the course of a woman's life. When body stress accumulates in these areas, the effects can be wide-reaching and deeply personal.
BSR has supported women experiencing:
- Painful, irregular or difficult periods
- Pelvic pain or pressure
- Bladder issues — urgency, frequency, incontinence or recurring infections
- Gynaecological discomfort, including conditions such as vestibulodynia, vulvodynia or vaginismus
- Fertility challenges
- Digestive complaints that seem connected to the menstrual cycle
- Lower back and coccyx pain that flares hormonally
Perimenopause & Menopause
Your hormones are changing. But not everything you're feeling is hormonal.
Perimenopause and menopause bring real and significant changes — and they deserve to be taken seriously. But they also coincide with a life stage in which many women are carrying decades of accumulated physical and emotional stress in their bodies.
The result is often a complicated mix — some symptoms are hormonal, some are structural, and many are both. Unpicking that picture, and giving your body the support it needs to navigate this transition, is something BSR is particularly well placed to help with.
Women going through perimenopause and menopause often come to me with:
- Disrupted sleep and exhaustion
- Heightened anxiety or a sense of being constantly on edge
- Joint pain and stiffness that seems to have arrived overnight
- Headaches that have become more frequent
- Digestive changes
- Low mood or a feeling of being disconnected from themselves
- Hot flushes that are worse when the body is tense and stressed
BSR won't replace HRT or other medical support you may be receiving. But by reducing the body's overall stress load and helping the nervous system settle, many women find that their symptoms become more manageable — and that they feel more like themselves again.

Healthy Ageing
Getting older doesn't have to mean getting used to pain.
There is a quiet acceptance that creeps in for many people as the years pass. The stiffness is put down to age. The aches are expected. The reduced mobility becomes the new normal.
But here's what I want you to know: much of what we attribute to ageing is actually accumulated body stress — tension that has been building for decades, pressing on the nervous system, and gradually reducing the body's capacity to function and heal.
That tension can be released. At any age.
BSR is one of the gentlest techniques available, which makes it particularly well-suited to older bodies. There is no force, no manipulation, no discomfort. My specially designed couch lowers gently, so there is no awkward climbing on and off. Sessions are deeply relaxing and require nothing from you except to lie still and let your body do what it knows how to do.
Regualar Sessions Can Help You:
Stay mobile and comfortable in your body
- Maintain your independence and keep doing the things you love
- Sleep more deeply and wake feeling more rested
- Manage the accumulated effects of a lifetime of physical and emotional stress
- Support your body's natural self-healing capacity as it changes with age
Think of it like servicing a car. You don't wait for a breakdown — you maintain it, so it keeps running well.
"I have not had the pain back in nearly two years. She has healing hands." — Client review
You deserve to feel well in your body — at every age.
Whether you're navigating hormonal changes, managing long-standing symptoms, or simply wanting to age with more ease and less pain — I'd love to help.
There is no pressure and no obligation. Just a conversation about how you're feeling and whether BSR might be the right next step for you.

Your path to discovery
From your first session to the gradual unwinding of tension you've carried for years - I'll be with you all the way.
Your First
Session
We start by listening. A detailed conversation about your history, followed by your body's own guided assessment — revealing exactly where tension has been stored and where to begin.
Your Unique
Path
No two people are the same. BSR follows what your body reveals, session by session, at its own pace — gently releasing layer by layer and moving you closer to feeling well.
Your
Recovery
Not a fixed endpoint, but a gradual return — to ease, to comfort, to movement, to feeling like yourself again. Your body knows how to heal. BSR simply gives it the space to do so.
Frequently asked questions
What should I expect during my first session?
Your first session begins with a conversation. I'll take a detailed case history so I can understand what's been going on for you — how long you've been experiencing it, what you've already tried, and what you're hoping for.
You remain fully clothed throughout, and I use a specially designed BSR couch that lowers gently, so there's no awkward climbing on and off.
I then test your body for stored tension using a series of gentle reflex tests along your spine and other relevant areas. Your body guides me to the exact sites of stress. I apply a gentle but precise stimulus to begin the release — and most people find the whole experience deeply relaxing.
Your first session lasts approximately 60 minutes. Subsequent sessions 45-60 min
How many sessions will I need?
This is one of the most common questions I'm asked — and the honest answer is that it depends on you, your body, and how long it has been carrying stored tension.
Some people notice significant changes after just one or two sessions. Others, particularly those with long-standing or complex issues, find that their body releases gradually over a series of appointments. As a general guide, I recommend an initial course of three sessions fairly close together, which gives your body the best chance to build momentum.
What I can tell you is that BSR is cumulative — each session builds on the last. And many clients choose to continue with occasional maintenance sessions once they're feeling well, simply to keep their body balanced.
I'll always be honest with you about your progress, and I'll never recommend sessions you don't need.
What should I wear to my appointment?
Whatever you're comfortable in. You remain fully clothed throughout your BSR session, so there's no need to bring a change of clothes or anything special. Loose, comfortable clothing is ideal — but honestly, most people come straight from work or their daily routine and that's completely fine.
Is BSR safe during pregnancy?
Yes — BSR is gentle, non-invasive and completely safe throughout pregnancy. In fact, pregnancy is one of the times I'd most encourage you to come.
As your body changes and your baby grows, the lower back and pelvis carry increasing load — and any tension already stored in those areas can become more pronounced. Regular BSR sessions can help keep the lower back and pelvic area as free from stress as possible, supporting your comfort and helping your body prepare naturally for birth.
Many pregnant women tell me their BSR session is the one hour in their week where they feel truly looked after. If you have any concerns or questions specific to your pregnancy, please don't hesitate to get in touch before booking.
How is BSR different from physiotherapy or chiropractic treatment?
It's a question I love being asked — because the differences are significant.
Physiotherapy typically focuses on rehabilitation through exercise, movement and manual therapy. Chiropractic focuses primarily on spinal manipulation — the adjustments and clicks you may be familiar with. Both have their place, and many of my clients have benefited from them.
BSR is different in a fundamental way. Rather than working on the body from the outside in, BSR works with the body's own intelligence — asking it where the stress is held and encouraging it to release that tension itself. There is no manipulation, no force, and no cracking or clicking of any kind.
BSR also looks for the source of the problem rather than treating the site of the pain. Tension held in one area of the body can affect another area entirely — and it's often only when those deeper patterns are released that lasting change begins to happen.
Many clients come to me having already tried physiotherapy or chiropractic — sometimes for years. BSR isn't a replacement for those approaches, but for many people it becomes the missing piece.
